This post goes out to all of you grinding on your fitness journey day in, day out, but your body doesn’t show it just yet.
Ive been there. I know the feels. Ive felt the struggle.
When I was younger I remember getting extremely frustrated because it was taking me forever to start to look the way I wanted to look. I was working my but off every day and seemed to be getting nowhere. The physiques I looked up to online and in magazines seemed so far away. Almost unreachable.
My height, the width of my shoulders and the length of my limbs meant that I was going to need to build a lot of muscle to fill in the gaps. And a lack of understanding of proper nutrition in my teens meant I was carrying a lot more body fat than I needed to.
I was in for the long haul.
But eventually, after countless hours in the gym, meticulous consistency with my meals & supplements, and years of hard work, I started to see some impressive progress.
It comes back to a quote I use a lot bodybuilding is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself.
It takes time to grow into your body… Or perhaps better put, grow into your structure. It takes time to build muscle. It takes time to lose unwanted body fat. It takes time to change your body composition.
Just because you don’t have ripped abs, a striated chest, a wide back, popping delts, or firm glutes it doesn’t mean you’re not working your butt off too. It doesnt mean you dont have what it takes. It doesnt mean you wont get there eventually.
Hang in there. Keep working. Stay the course. Embrace the journey. Cherish the lessons you learn along the way.
And be patient. I guarantee you the results will come.
