Making Difficult Decisions

Struggling with making a difficult decision? You don’t need more time. You need more courage.

I see this all the time. People stall on making difficult decisions and hide behind the need for “more time” to make up their mind.

Stop feeding yourself bullshit.
More time isn’t going to make the decision any easier. In fact, it’s actually going to make it more difficult. What you really need is less time. You need urgency.
And you need more courage.

Because what’s really preventing you from pulling the trigger is fear. Fear of failure. Fear of other people’s opinions. Fear of the consequences. All of which are fake. They’re not real. They only exist in your mind.

Don’t get it twisted – there is certainly a requirement for sufficient time to consider all the surrounding facts to ensure you make the best possible decision given the circumstances, but once you’ve done your fact-finding, don’t stall.
Make the decision. Take the leap.

Because the only way you’re going to be able to face whatever is on the other side of your difficult decision is to make it.
As one of my favourite poets, Erin Hanson, put it so eloquently… “There is freedom waiting for you, On the breezes of the sky, And you ask “What if I fall?” Oh but my darling, What if you fly?”
