1. What Is It?

Beet Root Powder, otherwise known as Beta Vularis, unsuprisingly derives from the root vegetable Beetroot. Processing and drying Beetroots creates a concentrated form of the vegetable, giving it a higher potency than in its previous form.

2. What Does It Do?

Beet Root Powder has become increasingly popular due to the naturally high presence of nitrates it contains, among other vitamins, minerals and antioxidant properties. The reason why it has become more prominent among the use of athletes is due the benefits that the high nitrate content brings. Nitrates converts into Nitric Oxide in the human body, which perform the role of enhancing blood flow by relaxing blood vessels. Improved blood flow results in a heightened capacity for nutrients to be transported around the body, particularly into working muscles that fuel the relevant movements. This is often associated with increased muscle pumps, but also improves recovery potential by transporting key nutrients such as glucose and amino acids into muscle cells. Improved blood flow also increases the amount of oxygen that circulates through the human body, which in turn results in improved muscular endurance and energy output. Many studies have been undertaken to test the effects Beet Root Powder (and juice) has on athletes, with results indicating improved physical performance, endurance and power output, whilst also reporting a reduction in the onset of fatigue.

3. When Do I Take It?

Due to the performance enhancing effects supplementing with Beet Root Powder can have, it is recommended to be taken approximately 30 – 60 minutes prior to exercise.

Whilst studies have used a variety of different dosages, we recommend supplementing with approximately 500mg of Beet Root Powder.

4. How Long Does It Take To Work?

Beet Root Powder begins to perform it’s powerful benefits the moment it hits the bloodstream. This is why it is recommended to be taken at least 30 minutes prior to working out, to allow the nitrates to be absorbed into the blood stream. You will notice enhanced muscle pumps, muscular endurance and less fatigue. Aside from the immediate effects, combined with appropriate training and dieting, you can expect to experience improved athletic performance, muscular endurance and faster recovery in the long-term.

5. How Much Does It Cost?

Products containing Beet Root Extract vary in cost, with the average cost per serving ranging between $2 – $3. Based on the average price of $2.50 per serve, supplementing with Beet Root Powder before each workout, 4 times per week will typically cost around $40 per month.

6. What Are The Top Products?

There are currently no products available that contain Beet Root Extract.
