zümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine

1. What Is It?

zümXR® is a technological delivery system designed to change the way ingredients are delivered, absorbed and put to use in the body. The American based company, also called zümXR®, have produced a patented delivery system for active ingredients in supplements. This delivery system can be used on a variety of active ingredients but it is most known and recognised for its applications with caffeine.

2. What Does It Do?

zümXR® is an active ingredient delivery technology. While it can be applied to a wide variety of active ingredients we are going to be focusing on zümXR® Caffeine.

zümXR® Caffeine is extended released caffeine that alters how caffeine is absorbed and then processed by the body. The technology of zümXR® takes you typical caffeine that has extremely rapid absorption and is processed in the body almost instantly and delays the entire process. This delaying effect then produces an ‘extended-release’ effect on the caffeine.

Extended-Release Energy

Your typical caffeine anhydrous is fast-absorbing, fast-digesting and VERY fast acting! With effects felt within the first 15 minutes after consumption and all the ‘energy’ being delivered within the first hour. This is why we see caffeine anhydrous used in 90% of stimulant formulas, the rapid onset of effects makes it extremely desirable for achieving increases in energy for users.

On the flipside, zümXR® Extended Release Caffeine, is designed to NOT provide the effects of caffeine anhydrous; at least from an ‘energy’ release timeline point of view. The specific zümXR® technology is designed to allow no MORE than 50% of the caffeine ‘energy’ within the first hour after the consumption of zümXR® Caffeine. And then by the 5-6 hour mark, no LESS than 80% of the caffeine ‘energy’ will have been released, absorbed and utilised by the body.

This ‘slowed down’ release of caffeine allows for much more gradual onset of effects from the caffeine serve attached to the zümXR® and thus allows for much longer-lasting energy than you typical caffeine anhydrous.

No Crash

All this focus on ‘extended-release’ with the energy you get from the caffeine has big emphasis on minimising the effect and even the chances of experiencing a ‘caffeine crash’. We’ve all been there, especially if you’ve been using supplements for the past 3+ years.

You’ve got yourself the latest high stim pre-workout, let’s say 375mg of caffeine anhydrous along with a bunch of typical active ingredients (generally underdosed). You take it, you drive to the gym, you feel the beta-alanine tingles, you start training, you train hard… real hard! Then you hit the 1.5 - 2 hour mark and you’re either just finishing up or you're getting on with the rest of your day and it hits you. You go from feeling supercharged to feeling like you’ve just pulled an all-nighter faster than you could even imagine. All that caffeine picked you up, real high… and then once it was all gone, it dropped you… HARD!

This is where zümXR® Extended Release Caffeine comes in to save the day. Used alone or more likely pair with caffeine anhydrous in a formula. The fact that at the 1 hour mark you still have 50% of the energy still to be released means you will get this steady release of caffeine to carry you through the point when the caffeine anhydrous has run out.

Jitter-Free Energy

Another benefit of incorporating zümXR® into the formula of stimulant-based products is for its ability to provide ‘clean’ energy. By ‘clean’ energy we are referring to jitter-free smooth energy that doesn’t hit you so hard you need to sit down and try to catch your breath… before you even start training.

As a stand-alone caffeine source but more effective when paired with caffeine anhydrous; zümXR® will help take the edge off of a large dose of caffeine anhydrous. This means that formulas you might normally write off from using because they look ‘too hardcore’ with the stimulant level may actually be more enjoyable to use if they pair caffeine anhydrous with zümXR® extended-release caffeine.

3. How Much Do I Need To Take?

Majority of the time you will see zümXR® paired with caffeine anhydrous and possibly other forms of caffeine in a formula. The dose of zümXR® is entirely dependent on what the product wants to achieve with the energy blend.

A pre-workout wanting to provide a significant surge of fast energy but ensure the user won't experience a crash may choose to use 300 mg of caffeine anhydrous paired with 50 mg of zümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine. Whereas, a thermogenic supplement, wanting to provide less of an instant surge and cleaner, smoother and ‘all-day’ energy could opt for a combination of 150 - 200 mg of caffeine anhydrous paired with 100 mg of zümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine.

4. When Do I Take It?

zümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine can provide up to 6 hours of stimulant energy from caffeine. The question isn’t ‘when you do I take it?’ it's ‘when shouldn’t I take it?’

Simply put, it's not ideal to take a formula that contains zümXR® Caffeine within 6 hours of wanting to go to sleep. Taking a product that consumes zümXR® Caffeine within 6 hours of wanting to go to sleep could have some effect on the quality of sleep you get that night. Taking a product that uses zümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine first thing in the morning, late morning or even early afternoon is ideal.

5. How Long Does It Take To Work?

As we mentioned earlier, the extended-release of the caffeine paired with zümXR® is designed to provide a certain level of ‘energy’ at certain intervals.

Within 1 hour after consumption zümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine will have released no MORE than 50% of the caffeine energy from the serve.

By the 5 - 6 hours mark, zümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine will have release no LESS than 80% of the caffeine energy from the serve in that product.
